To the west lie the Sidna Ali mosque, the cliff and the beach; to the north, Apollonia National Park. It is a small, long established neighborhood of early “railway” buildings (long, low apartment blocks typical of the period), older private houses, and new homes built in place of some of them.

Nof Yam sits on the sandstone ridge between Herzliya Pituach to the south and Apollonia National Park to the north. It divides into four parts, each with its own character.
The neighborhood’s long established streets, with railway buildings and private houses from the 1950s and 1960s. Most of the recorded deals are here.
Yigal Yadin Street descends to the mosque plaza and the beach. From there a path runs along the cliff to Apollonia.
The streets between the two neighborhoods, such as Neve Oved, HaPoel and HaHaruv, carry the names of the neighborhood’s founders. In the deals data they are classified as Herzliya Pituach.
The national park, and beside it the closed site of the former military factory. The residential plan drawn up there was cancelled in 2021 and returned for review.
Open in mapNof Yam was founded in 1946 by members of “Neve Oved”. After the founding of the state, the Nof Yam transit camp (a ma’abara, one of the temporary settlements for new immigrants) operated here, and in 1952 it was annexed to Herzliya. Some of the asbestos houses from that period still stand and are lived in, alongside the railway buildings of the earliest years.
Over the years some of the older private houses were demolished, and new luxury homes were built in their place. The result is an unusual blend in Nof Yam: small, quiet streets, modest older construction, and new houses facing the sea, within walking distance of the beach.
North of the neighborhood, a military industry plant operated until the 1990s. After an explosion in 1992 the plant was closed, and most of its site remains fenced off because of contamination concerns. The future of this land is one of the most important questions for anyone buying in the neighborhood.

Life in Nof Yam moves between the sea and the quiet streets. The beach, Apollonia and the cliff path are within walking distance, while the marina, Arena and central Herzliya are a short drive away.

The beach known as Sidna Ali, with lifeguards, showers and restrooms in its southern section. In February 2026 part of the cliff collapsed, and the northern section was closed to swimming. The descent to the beach is not accessible for strollers.
The national park on the cliff north of the neighborhood, open to the public since 2002. A path along the cliff leads to it from the mosque plaza in about 10 minutes on foot.
The ancient mosque west of the neighborhood, still active, set on the cliff above the beach.
Four synagogues in the neighborhood, Moroccan, Iraqi, Ashkenazi and Tripolitan, and the Elitzur Nof Yam Herzliya handball team.
There is no large shopping center within the neighborhood. The marina, the Arena complex and the beachfront restaurants are in southern Herzliya Pituach, a short drive away.
School placement in Herzliya follows the municipality’s registration zones and the home address, so it is worth confirming with the Education Department of Herzliya Municipality before buying.
A state elementary school within the neighborhood, on Hanasi Yitzhak Ben Zvi Street.
The junior high school in neighboring Herzliya Pituach. The registration zone should be verified for the address.
