A city founded on an initiative from New York: Ahuza Street, a 200 dunam park with a lake, a diverse community of immigrants and longtime residents, and a new neighborhood of thousands of apartments on the way
RS Nadlan is a real estate marketing and brokerage company working in Tel Aviv, Ramat HaSharon, Herzliya, Ra’anana and Kfar Saba, specializing in the neighborhoods of North Tel Aviv. Our offices are in Ramat Aviv Gimel. Ra’anana is a city of community: immigrants from English speaking countries alongside longtime residents, religious alongside secular, an education system that won the Municipal Education Award, and a park ranked among the best in Israel. Alongside the established neighborhoods around Ahuza Street, it has new neighborhoods such as Neve Zemer, and a large neighborhood is planned in the west of the city. We know the differences between the neighborhoods, and we guide buyers and sellers all the way to the precise property, including Off Market properties that are not advertised on listing sites.
On the morning of April 2, 1922, the first settlers set out from Tel Aviv, nine of them walking behind two wagons. The community was founded on the initiative of the “Ahuza A New York” company, established in New York in 1912, and its neighbors called it “Americaya”, because most of its residents spoke English. At first it was called “Ra’ananiya”, and the final name is taken from the Song of Songs. In 1936 Ra’anana received the status of a municipal council, and in June 1981 it was declared a city.
The international character has been preserved: many residents are immigrants from English speaking countries, Latin America, the former Soviet Union and France. In 2017 the city counted 80 synagogues, and it also has a Reform community and a Masorti community. In 2005 the World Health Organization declared Ra’anana a “Safe Community”, the first city in Israel and in the Middle East.
The Central Bureau of Statistics estimate stands at 85,677 residents, up from 75,422 in 2019. The municipality itself presents a city of about 100,000 residents, a municipal figure that does not come from the Central Bureau of Statistics.
