The neighborhood planned in 1925 as the heart of the colony: Nordau Street, older houses on the sandstone ridge, the Herzliya Hills towers and the railway station at its edge
Herzliya B sits on a sandstone ridge in western Herzliya, between the Coastal Highway and the Ayalon Highway, with Kfar Shmaryahu to the north. Along Nordau Street, buildings from the earliest period have been preserved; private houses on their own land dominate the north and east, while the Herzliya Hills towers have risen in the south.

Herzliya B extends over some 1,200 dunams (about 120 hectares) on a sandstone ridge. It divides into four parts, each with its own character and price level.
Pinhas Rosen, Mitzpe Yam and Brandeis streets, with terraced construction, the “Mitzpe Yam” water tower and the Byzantine villa at the top of the hill.
The main street, paved in 1936, with the neighborhood’s shops and most of its conservation buildings. To its west, mainly houses of one or two storeys.
On the slopes of the ridge, along HaMesila Street up to Kfar Shmaryahu. Mainly private houses on their own land, some of them relatively new.
A residential complex of ten buildings of 3 to 18 storeys, where construction began in 2015, at the entrance to Herzliya from the Coastal Highway.
Open in mapRichard Kaufmann’s 1925 plan designated the area, then called “Area C”, as the urban center of the colony. That vision was never realized, but the neighborhood built on the ridge developed an identity of its own: the area had its own committee and its own waterworks, and the committee was headed by Moshe Mabovitch, father of Golda Meir, whose parents’ house stood on HaMinhara Street.
For decades the residents fought to keep their status separate from Herzliya, until the merger order of March 1956. From that period, older buildings remain along Nordau, and they were included in conservation plan Har/2000/Shm, approved in 2019.
Today some 2,400 residents live in the neighborhood. Private houses on their own land in the north and east, low rise buildings of 2 to 7 storeys in the center, and the Herzliya Hills towers in the south.
The nickname “Jabal Druze”, once used in mockery by the colony’s residents, became a source of pride for the neighborhood. On the neighborhood’s early days, Wikipedia
